To-Mate-O To-Nite

A tomato-focused evening at the jam shop (2352 St Claude Avenue) designed to alight all senses! Happening Tuesday July 18 from 5:30-8:30PM.

Guests will participate in a tomato jam class led by Sara Levasseur of Jamboree Jams. They will learn the ins and outs of canning and learn how to prep local creole tomatoes and turn them into the jam shop's famous tomato jam. Each guest will take home their own jar of tomato jam. Guests will also be invited to create a tomato tea towel using block printing techniques to take home. Betsy Lindell of Seasoned will be leading a nightshade blind contour drawing activity and reading a nightshade poem of her choosing. Light snacks and refreshments, including wine with tomato leaf notes, will be provided by Bar Pomona.
