Grapefruit & Aleppo Pepper Marmalade
Bitter and smoky with a big grapefruit bite.
Pairs well with a delicate soft cheese, some sweet butter and a thick slab of sourdough, or in a Paloma.
A note on Aleppo pepper: Aleppo pepper is known for its earthy, smokey, & citrusy spice. Though it is named after the city of Aleppo in Syria, it has become increasingly difficult to grow and export the dried pepper for Syrian farmers due to the ongoing civil war. Most Aleppo pepper now comes from Southern Turkey but is still being referred to as Aleppo pepper rather than its other name, Halaby pepper. We will be updating our labels once we reach the end of this last label roll to appropriately reflect this shift. We will also be donating 10% of all sales from this marmalade each year to an organization that works in food access and security in Syria.
